All About Aromatherapy Candles

If you’re anything like me, then you’re always looking for ways to alleviate the stress in your life and find ways to relax. I have found that aromatherapy candles are a wonderful way to do so, whether you light them while taking a hot bath or even have them lit in the evenings as you go about your usual activities. You might think that aromatherapy is all in the head, but believe me, once you hit on the right combination of colors and scents, your mind is transported somewhere else and you’ll feel better than you ever have before. However, there are some tips you should follow when you’re using these candles for an enhanced experience that will have you smiling from morning till evening.

While some people think that aromatherapy can cure a number of illnesses, I don’t make any such claims here. For the most part, this kind of therapy is based on your reaction to certain smells and the endorphins that your brain might release upon smelling them. They also cause you to feel positive emotions and evoke strong memories and associations with certain places—think about the smells that both invigorate and relax you: the smell of freshly-baked cookies and pies, clean cotton fresh off the laundry line on a warm summer days, the scent of a pine forest. By lighting these scented candles, which give off a mild but definite and constant stream of scent, you trigger these memories and emotions, which in turn trigger the release of positive hormones into your body. As you can see, aromatherapy works on more than one level.
There are a number of different ways that aromatherapy candles can affect your mood. There is a big difference between regular scented candles and these candles as well, so don’t be fooled! Aromatherapy candles have essential oils in them, which not only makes them of a higher quality, but they have been proven to have positive effects in a number of ways, such as making you feel as if you have more energy, helping you feel relaxed, and of course, putting you and your honey in a romantic mood! Aromatherapy candles are a great way to both fill your house with amazing scents and improve your overall outlook on life, each and every day.

Brief information on Scented Candles

There are many events in our lives that require use of candles. This includes birthdays, parties and romantic dinners. However, to add more ambience and style to these parties, you can go for Scented Candles. The candles are crafted with the right materials to ensure that they have the right smell. They are made of essential oils and synthetic aroma chemicals that give them their distinct smell. This is unlike ancient candles that used to be made from animal fat and tallow. Furthermore, the makers of these candles use the right formula in making them so as to allow the candles to burn properly.

To ensure that the candles light up correctly, the makers of these candles use cotton or cotton with cloth to make wick. Before people used Zink or lead wicks to make these candles but unfortunately, they have been banned. In addition, you can find Scented Candles with wooden wicks in the market. These kinds of wicks normally produce a cracking effect as they are burning. It is also important to note that a candle with a lead core will produce a gray color when the wick is rubbed on paper.

When Scented Candles are burning, water vapor, carbon dioxide and fragrance are released into the air. That is why the makers of these candles have to use the right mixture so that the candles can burn appropriately. If the candle has too much fragrance, there is risk that they will burn unevenly or produce too much soot and this is not the real essence of the candles. However, it is impossible to produce candles with no soot. The best made ones have the minimum amount of soot. Scented Candles can cause fore and it is important for one to take precautions when using them. They should always be placed on a holder away from loose items such as curtains or papers.

Are Aromatherapy Candles Really Helpful?

Anytime you walk into a Body Shop or a Yankee Candle you cannot help but notice that the shelves are lined with aromatherapy candles. In fact, for a large part of the last decade many people touted the benefits of aromatherapy in any form. Therefore, if you have ever wondered past an aromatherapy candle display you may wonder if the candles are really able to do much more for you than the simple delight that watching a wax candle burn can.

The truth is that aromatherapy candles are able to help soothe and relax people due to the fact that the wax is infused with a combination of essential oils. When the wax candle starts to burn the oils are released into vapors that are breathable. Due to the fact that aromatherapy candles burn at a much hotter temperature than regular wax candles the oils are released into the air at a warmer temperature than normal candle vapors. Thus, your lungs easily are able to absorb the oil vapors and you breathe them into your body.

While this idea may sound frightening when put this way, the truth is that the smell and vapors help in a positive way by changing your mood making you generally much more relaxed and content in the same way that certain smells may relax you. The type of benefit that you receive depends of course on the type of aromatherapy oils are infused into the wax candles which is why there are many different types of aromatherapy candles.

Given the variety of aromatherapy candles on the market there are too many options to list them all, but a few examples include lavender, tangerine, ginger, and bergamot. Lavender and tangerine aromatherapy candles are both meant to relax those who use them by helping your body release its tension. Ginger candles on the other hand will help sharpen your memory and is great to use while studying. On the other hand, for soothing the body after a long day chamomile is a great choice and bergamot candles will increase your mood making them great to use as a power combination.
